November Events

Troop 338 helped with the Scouting For Food Drive Nov 2 and 9.  Our Troop contributed the highest amount of food in the area, at 278 bags for the food shelves at Second Harvest.  Some late donations were given to FUMC.

The Challenger District Camporee was held on Nov 22-24 and our troop, troop 338, won the best troop at the camporee!  It was a fun and a memorable experience for the entire troop. The activities that were laid out included the Tripod-challenge, fire-building, Ladder Ball, Kan Jam, Patrol Flag Relays, Ultimate Frisbee, and Flag Football.

Some of the activities were judged, while others (Ladder Ball, Kan Jam) were just for entertainment. All of the training and hard work at the meetings paid off! Here are the results for some of the events we won.

  • Tripod Challenge: 1st, 2nd Place
  • Patrol Flag Relay: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place.
  • Best Gateway: 338.

Several of the scouts of our troop were selected to join the Order of the Arrow, the national honor society of scouting.  They were tapped out at the Fall Camporee. Their Ordeal campout is in January. Congratulations to all of the new OA inductees!

The monthly PLC was also held the Monday after the camporee. Check the PLC event in the calendar for meeting notes / minutes.
